Why Start A Blog?

I used to think that blogging was stupid, but really I had no idea why people do it. There are two main reasons to blog…..

1) to create keyword-rich pages that will drive traffic to your website, blog, or landing page

SEO, or Search Engine Optimization is the free strategy of using keyword-rich pages to drive traffic to a website or blog. For example, I found the keyword phrase “Maricopa County Marriage License” to be a phenomenal blog topic to drive traffic to my wedding officiant website. I trade my time for money as a wedding minister.

2) to make money as an affiliate marketer.

Most people don’t realize that when they click any link on any blog, that link is likely an affiliate link. That means if you click the link and then buy something, the blog’s author will receive a commission.

Why Blogging Is Important

I’ve written three blog posts that use the phrase, “Maricopa County Marriage License” and those posts are responsible for driving between 400-500 new visitors to my wedding officiant website each month.Â Why does that matter?
